Wash
Using hot, soapy water and a scrubber that won’t leave marks or abrasions, clean the cooking surface. If you use an abrasive brush, you may damage the enamel surface, which is used to help keep your cast iron naturally non-stick. If there’s stubborn, burnt-on food, soak with hot water for 5 minutes before cleaning.
Never place our cast iron in the dishwasher as this can strip away the enamel and cause damage. Washing by hand is the best way to improve your cast iron’s longevity.
Dry
Take a paper towel and dry immediately. Leftover water can cause rust and watermarks. Well-used cast iron may leave black residue on your paper towel. If so, this is seasoning and perfectly normal.
Oil
Although our cast iron is already seasoned, we do still recommend lightly oiling at regular intervals to maintain its non-stick surface. The frequency at which you use oil depends on how often you use your cast iron.
Store
Store in a dry, safe place. Avoid placing other pans on top of the surface as this can cause scratches that could impact its cooking performance.
